Good Vibes

I’ve been cooking up this one for a while. A friend in my office switched jobs and it just seemed like the right message for a new start!

When I showed another friend, she said, “Oh! You cheat and write it all out first!” And I said YES! Nothing is ever as hard as it looks! Also, if it weren’t easy, I wouldn’t do it.

This did take a little longer than anticipated but I love the look of bold satin stitch text.

Farmer’s Market Tote

I worked up this tote last summer and felt like it was a perfect produce bag for Farmer’s Market! I forgot that yarn is, well… stretchy, so it had a lot of sag. A cotton yarn would probably keep shape a bit better, but I tie a knot in the strap to shorten it up and that works fine too!

I’ll be teaching a Crochet Basics class at the Library on April 25 (next weekend!). If you’d like to learn how to start crocheting- I’d love to teach you!

My first stab at embroidery… I thought I was doing it wrong so I didn’t even try again for about 3 years!

See? Outlines. I use a split stitch or back stitch for this. (Tutorial)

I transferred a silhouette and “painted” with satin stitches. (Silhouette)

Baby Death Star (Pattern). I learned how to embroider because it seemed like a perfect gift. This one went straight to my husband!

This mama sloth + baby just belonged to my friend Amanda. I stitched it up and sent it where it already needed to be. (Pattern)
